This rebuild is
guaranteed to restore your EPAS (electric power
assist steering) to original factory specifications provided your hydraulic pump is running
continuously (indicating a burned-out controller), or the motor sounds like a coffee grinder
(bad bearings). We are unable to rebuild pump motors that are no longer running as these typically
require armature rewinding. There is a 3 day turnaround on these rebuilds.
Most of these power steering pumps fail around 70k miles due to either burned out
controllers or bad bearings. Another limitation of this motor is the
commutator which
lasts only about 140k miles. Therefore, depending upon how many miles you have on your car, a
rebuild may or may not be a cost-effective option.
This quality repair includes the following work performed to your EPAS hydraulic unit:
Replacement of all power semiconductors with our proprietary
devices to prevent future failure over the life of the motor and pump unit. Our rebuilt EPAS
controllers will outlast multiple new units over the life of the car... potentially saving
thousands.
New premium grade sealed ball bearings installed
Armature commutator cleaned and turned on lathe
Heavy duty conformal coating applied to all internal electronics
to protect against brush dust contamination
Cleaning and corrosion protection of housing and castings.
2 year warranty.
3 day typical turnaround time in shop.
Due to the popularity of this item, we are offering this rebuild only on eBay.

1) Obtain security code for anti-theft radio (if applicable).
2) Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
3) Be sure the ignition is switched OFF (also applies when connecting the battery).
4) Make sure all parts are absolutely clean before beginning work to avoid contamination
of internal parts. Foamy Engine Brite engine cleaner from any auto supply store works excellent.
Seal off pipe connections with plugs or a plastic bag and rubberband. Dirt must not be allowed
to enter the system.
5) Using a large syringe or turkey baster, draw all fluid out of the power steering fluid
reservoir and discard in an environmentally safe manner. Do not attempt to reuse this fluid.
